Abstract:

"Giorgio Fabre's book will occupy a permanent place in the historical studies of Fascism and Nazism because it shows that Mussolini was a determined anti-Semite. Fabre lets the facts speak for themselves: fascism since its beginnings included a small but vocal anti-Semitic fringe that was destined to grow because Mussolini sympathized with it. Not only did Mussolini buy the rights to "Mein Kampf", he also diligently annotated the extracts prepared by his Foreign Ministry translators. Then, Mussolini developed his own anti-Semitic policy, which would have raised him to become the leader of European anti-Semitism. His first step (in 1933-1934) was the elimination of Jews from all positions of responsibility in Italian society."--Publisher's website.
