This beginning science book has it all.  This book which has everything you would want to know about spring is obviously designed to help children learn how to use a nonfiction book.  This has a table of contents, a science lab section, and science words section with pronunciation guide and meaty definitions, an index, a 3-item bibliography and a website for additional information.  Using an established format for the items in this nonfiction series, there are interesting, captioned, full-color photographs which cover one whole page of each double page spread. The text is simple yet information and the type face is clear and easy to read. There are information boxes shaped like the sun and students in grades 1-3 will find this interesting and useful.
