Folio format; illustrations are etchings, and aquatints (mainly hand-coloured); plates [1-2] are hand-coloured aquatints laid on leaves and covering an engraved title page lettered: "The Royal Pavilion at Brighton. Published by command of & dedicated by permission to the King by His Majesty's dutiful subject and servant John Nash". This engraved title page presumably was that of Nash's book of plates of the Brighton Pavilion published in 1826; see: Tooley, R.V. English books with coloured plates 1790 to 1860, no. 338.
Most of the prints of the first set are signed and have imprint. Ill.: Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin, Charles Moore, John Willis, Copley Fielding, James Stephanoff. Etchers: George Gladwin, James Tingle, Charles Moore, Henry Le Keux, Thomas Kearnan, Thomas Sutherland, J.
