Abstract:
Memoirs of the author, who was in charge of the Department for Professional Training of the Jewish Center in Slovakia during the war years, and was also an active member of the Pracovná Skupina (the Working Group, the Jewish rescue organization). Describes attempts to prevent the deportation of Jews by arranging work opportunities for them, his close cooperation with Gisi Fleischmann, the worsening conditions of Slovak Jewry, the Sereď labor camp, and his own eventual incarceration in Sereď and deportation to Theresienstadt, where he was liberated.
