The collection includes a calling card from Lapham's daughter, Julia A. Lapham, with the handwritten note, "I thank you for the use of these letters. Oconomoc, Wis. May 24th, 1897." Obsolete plant names mentioned include Crataegus flexuosa, Nasturtium hispidum, Rosa sayi, and Triticum pauciflorum.
