Abstract:

Egypt's Artisan Ambition Jewelry - a universal form of adornment has been around since prehistoric times with shells, stones and bones all used as a form of protection or mark of status. But perhaps the most famous jewelry belongs to Egypt. With the discovery of Tutankhamun's burial mask to the bust of Nefertiti, archaeological discoveries have opened up a world of ancient goldsmithing techniques, skilled craftmanship and the importance of personal adornment. Internationally acclaimed jewellery designer Azza Fahmy unravels the story of Egypt's jewel heritage. As founder of one of the first luxury brands in Egypt and the first woman to train with the country's master jewellers, she has conquered the Egypt's jewellery industry. Now she is on a mission to resurge this heritage and export Egypt's treasures once more around the globe.
