Notes: Verso contains address to Clusius in Mechelen; dates on which Clusius received Pantius' letter (March 11, 1569) and responded (April 1, 1569); and filing information ("16, p. 7"). A note in a different, later, hand identifies the dates as being in Clusius' own hand: "Autographum Caroli Clusii botanici celeberrimi."
Tear in crease has been mended with paper strip; sewing holes along left-hand margin suggest letter had been bound, perhaps into a correspondence notebook or register.
With: letter, dated Aug. 27, 1600 in Leovardia [Leeuwarden, Netherlands] to Andreas Albada from jurist Jacob Bouricius; catalogued separately as Case MS 5072 no. 2.
