Letters to Frances Parke Lewis Butler from her mother Nelly Custis Lewis and brother Lorenzo Lewis.

A letter, 1827 June, is too fragile and fragmented to read and has been scheduled for repair.

In a letter, 1832 May 20, Nelly Custis Lewis worries about the effect of the Louisia climate, describes the natural history collection of "Lolen" and his treatment for a [broken?] ankle, sends news of activities and health of family and friends, asks for some pressed wildflowers as souvenirs, comments on a new preacher and an ordination at which Bishop Meade was present, and closes with regards from all including servants.

In a letter April 17, n.y., Lorenzo sends advice on child rearing, discusses how hard her husband is working for General Gaines and comments on the latest fashions.  Read more...

Letters to Frances Parke Lewis Butler from her mother Nelly Custis Lewis and brother Lorenzo Lewis.
