Abstract:

John Waller was born in 1758 in Stafford County, Virginia to Mary and John Waller. He primarily lived in western Virginia which is now Kentucky. He served in the Revolutionary War and belonged to the 10th Virginia Regiment in 1777. He enlisted again and continued as a recruiting Sergeant until 1783. After his military service, he was commissioned a deputy surveyor. John was commissioned along with his brother, Edward, as "Captains of the Militia for the County" (Bourbon County) on August 10, 1786. Also, in August, 1786, John married Garner Rout. He died in 1823.
