Includes material concerning his early writing as a newspaper reporter in Iowa. Subjects in the Kantor and McKinlay family papers include Kantor's youth in Iowa, literary celebrity, and involvement as an author with the military and police. Family members represented by correspondence and other papers include his mother Effie McKinlay Kantor and his wife Irene Layne Kantor.
