Marc Taylor, a longtime music journalist, chronicles their rise and fall of one of the great girl groups of Motown in The Original Marvelettes. At a time when most girl groups merely swayed back and forth on the stage, the Marvelettes came out of nowhere to take on the music world and give Motown its first #1 pop record, "Please Mr. Postman." Their sexy, sultry sound kept them on the Billboard charts with hits like "Don't Mess with Bill." Eleanor "Cookie" Harris will sing some of their hits.
