Summary:
An award certificate issued by the Massachusetts Society for Promoting Agriculture and presented to Mrs. John Hunter in October of 1825 for a second premium for blankets exhibited at the Brighton Show. An engraving, with the words "Commonwealth of Massachusetts" and a picture of the Massachusetts state seal, a cornucopia, a plow, and other agriculture implements, is printed at the top of the certificate.

Date inscribed on certificate and refers to the date certificate was awarded. The engraving was used by the Society as early as 1819.

Abstract:
