"Richard Long has made handprints on the walls of galleries and museums for temporary exhibitions. More permanent impressions of the artist's hands are contained in this book. The artist arrived in the premises of the Coracle Press with a bucket of mud from the river Avon; having made prints of his hands in each of the 100 books, already bound, he threw the remaining mud down the stairwell walls, where the artists who have worked with the Press have all left evidence of their work"--Manet to Hockney : modern artists' illustrated books / edited by Carol Hogben & Rowan Watson. - [London] : Victoria & Albert Museum, 1985.
Artist's book. Letterpress with ill. consisting of two impressions of the palms of the artist's right and left hands, imprinted in mud. Barrier sheets bound in.
