A group of sons of some Roman Senators are united by a common teacher that saves a mystery. The story in this hardback book was a bit hard to follow in the beginning but once past the first few chapters it picked up. It had lots of historical and mythological references that might pique student interests. Seven boys growing up during the great Roman empire times, get involved in solving a planned assassination of one of their own fathers. They survive lions, ex-gladiators, kidnappings and prison only to be captured by the Emperor himself. A must read mystery.
