Abstract:

Browning, a private investigator who after being killed in the line of duty, finds himself in what at first appears to be a government office, but is in fact heaven. He waits in line to be assigned a new personal identification code and body. When his turn finally arrives, he is given the body of Benji. Since the investigator must work from inside his canine exterior, what follows is a murder mystery with a voice over of internal monologue by Chevy Chase and some of the most amazing dog tricks in history.
