Papers of the Crosby family of Bangor, Maine. Includes business correspondence, receipts, and bills of lading (1828-33) for pottery, cloth, liquor, and dry goods shipped from Boston to William C. Crosby & Co. of Bangor. Family correspondents include Jeanette and Emily Watson and Mary N. Crosby. Jeanette Watson describes an 1850 meeting of the Religious Union of Associationists in Boston to mark the anniversary of the birth of Charles Fourier; she also witnessed the wedding of Louis Agassiz and Elizabeth Cabot Cary. Mary Crosby describes Boston social life, fashions, and the visit of Prince Edward (later King Edward VII) to Boston in 1860.
