Collection includes photocopies of articles from scrapbook on Josiah Cohen of Pittsburgh, Pa.; material from scrapbook on Rev. J J. Lyons dealing mainly with the B'nai Jeshurun Educational Institute; correspondence, reports, and newspaper items from the Committee of American Israelites, Jewish Theological Seminary of America, Union of American Hebrew Congregations, and various other Jewish educational institutions; letters, documents, memoirs, and newspaper clippings relating to Jewish pioneers in the Southwest, particularly Arizona and New Mexico, including Solomon Barth, once owner of the entire Grand Canyon, Emil Ganz, Phoenix banker and mayor, Henry Lesinsky, builder of the first copper smelter and railroad in Arizona, Levi Strauss, Sam Ravel, Arthur Seligman, governor of New Mexico, and Solomon Bibo, trader with Apache and Pueblo Indians; and educational notes for doctoral dissertation made by Dr. Fierman.
