The papers of Fred Schwengel document his political career and interests with subject files on such national issues as agriculture, education, school prayer, and the Vietnamese conflict. Iowa related topics include information on cities and counties, Iowa colleges and universities, and businesses. There are copies of his speeches and legislation, along with four boxes of photographs. His life long interest in Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War is also represented.
