Abstract:

The papers of Frieda S. Miller contain correspondence, drafts of speeches, notes, articles, reports, pamphlets, photographs, publications, and other papers reflecting on Miller's political career. Also included is information on International Labour Organisation conferences, the 1946 conference in London where she served as advisor to the United States delegation to the General Assembly of the United Nations and as the government representative to the International Labour Organisation's constitutional committee meetings, and later meetings about bringing the International Labour Organisation into the United Nations. Material on UNICEF, the National Committee on Household Employment, the International Union for Child Welfare Survey, and Friends of Alliance is included as well as Miller's diary of a trip to Delhi, India. Correspondents include Frances P. Bolton, Herbert Lehman, Clara (Mortenson) Beyer, Pauline Newman, Frances Perkins, and Louise Stitt.
