Abstract:

The papers include a privately produced journal entitled "The Buffalo Buster", 1907-1908, which reflects the often humerous thoughts of a group of men who occasionally met at Mt Buffalo, Victoria. Some of the group are identified: David Bevan, Sir John Monash, Ernest Levinson, but others are identified only as Wright, Farlow, Gibson, Johnson, Bates and Peebles. Includes two copies (1 typescript) of a poem (or song) dedicated "To the Buffalo". Also contains "Justice Bevan's Diary", a record of his trip from Darwin to Adelaide in November 1917 to January 1918, with some biographical detail; and a paper entitled "Captain Cook."
