Abstract:

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the post implementation results of an Advanced Access appointment-scheduling model. This study aimed to find out if Advanced Access had an effect on efficiently matching the patient with the assigned personal physician, on patient satisfaction with the patient's ability to see their assigned personal physician, and patient satisfaction with time calling for an appointment to the time an appointment was obtained. For the purpose of this study, a quantitative, a non-experimental survey research design was used and data were collected via a questionnaire. The results of the study demonstrated that Advanced Access model yielded higher patient-physician matching rates for appointments, higher satisfaction with the patient's ability to see their assigned personal physician, and no improved results with patient satisfaction with time to obtain an appointment.
