Abstract:

"The once proud tradition of authoritative, persuasive preaching in America and abroad has been in decline during the last half of the twentieth century. As the curtain rises on a new millenium, a famine of solid, cogent Bible preaching continues to impede the church's growth and effectiveness. A revitalization of preaching will come about only as God-called men dedicate themselves anew to sermon preparation and delivery. Most pastors and church leaders concur with the adage that men prepare sermons, whereas God prepares men. Anyone called to fill the pulpit must commit wholeheartedly to learning the art of preaching. Recognizing this, a large number of pastors and ministry students are rethinking their preaching philosophies and revisiting the timeless, dependable method of biblical exposition. As many preachers turn back to the Bible for the substance and authority of thier preaching, the time is right for a fresh look at the subject."--Cover.
