Abstract:
This book discusses various site-wise approaches to cancer management and provides effective treatment of stages of different cancers using the present-day diagnostic aids and treatment modalities. The book also provides an insight on the development of technical nature in the last 100 years, the basics of diet, and emergencies encountered amongst the cancer patients. The site specialized treatments include stage specific-wise assessment to manage a patient with the best practices of three main therapeutic modalities such as surgical, radiation and medical oncology. The book includes 31 different chapters such as radiobiology of radiation therapy, radiation pathology, brachytherapy, advances in radiotherapy techniques, image-guided radiation therapy, lasers in head and neck surgery, emergencies in cancer, nutrition and cancer, central nervous system tumors, surgical management of head and neck cancer, and radiation in treatment of head and neck cancer. The book concludes with topics such as prostate cancer, castration-resistant prostate cancer, ocular malignancies: an overview, soft tissue sarcoma, drug discovery and clinical trial process, quality assurance of high dose rate: brachytherapy (remote afterloading unit), and pain management in cancer patients.
