Summary:
It is 1572, and France is torn apart by the religious wars between Catholics and Protestants. To calm the hatred, the ruthless royal matriarch Catherine de Medici plans an alliance for peace, the marriage of her daughter Margot to the Protestant Henri de Bourbon, King of Navarre. However, any ideas of peace are quickly abandoned, and bloodshed and violence result. First released as a motion picture in 1993.
