Abstract:

The Silver Tabby is an illustrated children's book, about a kitten named Silver who struggles with being different in appearance to the rest of the kittens in her litter. As the story progresses, Silver manages to adopt the same appearance as her siblings and happily joins in the kitten games. When Silver's disguise is washed from her fur, and her true identity revealed, Silver's siblings accept her into the litter for who she really is and not her disguised sameness. The story aims to teach young children the moral lesson that it is alright to be different. Despite our differences, we are all fundamentally the same as humans, and we should treat everyone with equal respect.
