Abstract:
Horkheimer and Adorno saw antisemitism as the key to understanding the innate contradictions of society through the ages, especially modern society with its Enlightenment ideology of human rights, equality, and democracy - an ideology that falters because it posits a universal sameness of all human beings and thus excludes those that are different. Interprets the seven theses of the section "Elemente des Antisemitismus" in the "Dialektik der Aufklärung".
