"This guide gives a new selector in Romance languages and literatures tips and best practices based on the experiences of two librarians who came at the job with different backgrounds. We both rely heavily on the expertise and experience of our colleagues and vendors with whom we work through our professional associations, the European Studies Section (ESS) of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) and the Seminar on the Acquisition of Latin American Library Materials (SALALM). The guide borrows not only from our personal experiences, but also on the thoughtful presentations and programs at conference meetings we have attended, the well-curated websites and descriptive reports available online, and the generous mentoring we have received. The scope of this guidebook is on supporting college and university programs in Romance languages and literatures"--
