Abstract:

Mientras los planes de estudio de la educación artística modernista -1950 a 2000- se basan en el canon occidental adscrito al individualismo, la creatividad y los modelos formalistas de la crítica de arte, las teorías postmodernas se centran en las condiciones y estructuras sociales que configuran los valores artísticos; las obras de arte contemporáneas muestran cómo las sociedades construyen relaciones de poder con respecto a las clases sociales, los géneros y la cultura, y utilizan a menudo mecanismos como la ironía, la parodia o el shock. La obra propone nueve claves de orientación para planificar los diseños curriculares. Varios profesores australianos e ingleses relatan su experiencia pedagógica en diferentes centros. A modo de guía para los estudiantes, se ofrecen además siete marcos de interpretación para el estudio del arte contemporáneo: formalista, deconstructivo, de género, cultural, semiótico, psicoanalítico y social-realista.
