Abstract:

"It started with a stumble." So begins the author's compelling true account of one woman's ordeal with a debilitating illness that would claim her life. The story of how she and her husband confronted their misfortune is as gripping a story as you will ever read; it also calls into question the whole range of complex problems prompted by the new medical technologies that can extend life -- even beyond the will to live it.

by marni (WorldCat user on 2007-04-16)

I came upon this book while taking the healthcare aided course many years ago. I was so overwelmed by it. I have suggested many times it should be a manditory read for everyone entering the health care field. It lets us know how that client feels, waiting for us to come and turn them , hoping we will offer them a drink.....thank-you so much. Enlightening ,moving and memorable. Marni Arnott,Petkau
