Abstract:

A compilation of three comedies made in Paris: The Pumpkin Race (1907) directed by Louis Feuillade and Romeo Bosetti, is a semi-surrealistic chase film involving runaway pumpkins; Une Dame Vraiment Bien/A Truly Fine Lady is a comedy by Feuillade in which an attractive young lady is oblivious to the havoc she creates in the streets of Paris; Drame chez les Fantoches/Drama Among the Puppets (1908) is one of the earliest animated films in which Emile Cohl introduced a character 'Fantoche' who became immensely popular with French audiences. Cohl was a pioneer of the animated cartoon; Feuillade was one of the originators of the Parisian style of charm, wit and understatement.
