Dr. Battie was the first physician to teach psychiatry to medical students. His book is based on extensive experience with patients in the mental institutions he founded and his teaching revolutionized the practice of psychiatry and presented many interesting and still valid ideas. This volume includes an informative introduction by Dr.James A.
