Abstract:
As of November 1933, the German criminal investigation department had the possibility, within the framework of "preventive crime control", to direct people to concentration camps due to their criminal records. In total, this involved several tens of thousands of people, of whom approximately 9,000 were "professional offenders" in the Sachsenhausen concentration camp. The present volume deals with the persecution of this previously largely unknown detention group.
