The Trip to the moon was restored by Lobster Films, Groupama Gan Foundation for cinema and Technicolor Foundation for cinema heritage.
Special features include: restored black and white version from the original with three audio options 1) Robert Israel Orchestral score with an original spoken English narration written by Méliès,2) A troup of actors voicing the various characters as performed in the U.S. in 1903 with piano acompaniment by Frederick Hodges 3) Piano accompaniment by Frederick Hodges ; interview with the group AIR discussing their new soundtrack; two lunar-related shorts by Méliès: The Eclipse (1904) and The astronomer's dream (1898).
