Abstract:
As soon as Wanda learned to draw, she dreamed of becoming an artist. But when her father died, a teenaged Wanda put her family before her art, taking care of her ailing mother and six siblings. A nice addition to any library.
Story, based on her diaries, of illustrator and author Wanda Gag (pronounced GOG) who's book "Millions of Cats", is considered the first modern picture book. I recommend this book. I imagine art teachers and students who love to draw would be drawn to Gag's passion...
