Abstract:

Hysterectomy forceps. Two symmetrical nickel-plated steel blades are joined by aseptic joint to form scissor-like instrument; handles have circular finger rings; shanks are flat on interior and beveled on exterior and broaden then narrow from joint to handles, expanding in an outward curve near handles so that when instrument is fully closed an open tear-drop shape is formed; ratchet closure is located on proximal end near handles; curved jaws are of heavy, conical style and taper slightly to blunt points; heavy, transverse serrations run along full length of jaws; exterior of one.
