· To Sir John Barrow, promoter of exploration and author : 1 autograph letter signed : [no date] : (MISC 2270) : including, "Tell George not to be discouraged with the pencil marks. Let him try & try again, & he will catch something of Anacreon's manner ..."

· To Eliza Blagg at Grosvenor Gate, Hyde Park : 1 autograph letter signed : [no date] : (MISC 3974) : expressing a longing to see her. Tipped into the grangerized copy of Hazlitt's Spirit of the Age. Shelved with bound manuscripts under "Hazlitt."

· To William Cookesley, probably the son of Gifford's benefactor of the same name, who died in 1781 : 1 autograph letter signed : 29 Apr 1788 : (MISC 0120) : planning for a possible visit.
