Abstract:

The William M. Wadley papers consists of cashbooks, manuscript diaries, correspondence, genealogical information, and photographs.

contains manuscript diaries of William M. Wadley (1869-1882) which record family and business events, including his involvement with the Central of Georgia Railway, weather, gardening, and personal observations. Laid in these diaries were correspondence and an application for membership in the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution for Mary Millen Wadley Raoul. Also included are ;a photocopy of A BRIEF RECORD OF THE LIFE OF WILLIAM MORRILL WADLEY by Sarah Lois Wadley (New York: J.C. & W.E. Powers Press, 1906) and THE LIFE AND LABORS OF WILLIAM M. WADLEY, WITH AN ACCOUNT OF THE WADLEY MEMORIAL ASSOCIATION AND THE CEREMONY OF UNVEILING THE STATUE edited by T.B. Catherwood (Savannah: Morning News Steam Printing House, 1888), corrected typescript carbon of Wadley biographical information, and official correspondence from the Confederate States of America War Department regarding Wadley's commission (1862-1863).

contains a manuscript diary kept by Rebecca Barnard Everingham Wadley (Feb. 6, 1878 - May 4, 1881), wife of William M. Wadley, genealogical information about the descendants of Joseph Wadleigh (1712-1792), paternal great grandfather of William Wadley, and photographs of family members.
