What was never known back home in the US of how hundreds of lives were saved during the battle at Okinawa has now been written and published in the book titled: "WINGS OVER SAKISHIMA." This book details 82 plus days of air action by US and British air units taken against Kamikaze airfields on two small Japanese islands located 150 miles from Okinawa. These US Navy and Marine planes were stationed 60 miles from their targets on Escort carriers. This story originated from a mysterious horrifying dream experienced by a young American Air Force man while living and working as a Radar operator on the small Island of Miyako Jima in 1964. He was so inspired by the dream that he was determined find its meaning. Don Johnson
