Abstract:
Alice: Alice is a wealthy Manhattan housewife who feels unfulfilled in her life. After seeing a succession of alternative health care practitioners for a variety of imagined ailments, she finds an acupuncturist who helps launch her on a voyage of self discovery.
Another Woman: Marion is happy with her life until she encounters a bizarre stranger, who causes her to reevaluate everything about herself.
Crimes and misdemeanors: An ophthalmologist contemplates having his lover murdered and a filmmaker who wants to make a documentary about a philosophy professor instead is commissioned to do a study of a man he despises.
September: A woman recuperating from a nervous breakdown begins a romance with a writer, which indirectly leads to her discovering traumatic secrets about her family.
Shadows and fog: Fleeing a band of vigilantes, a cowardly clerk teams up with a sword swallower trying to escape the circus.
