Abstract:
A documentary presentation of the history of the ancient art of mosaic. Shows examples dating back to 2000 B.C.; follows the development of the art through the Sumerian, Greek, Roman, and Byzantine periods to early Aztec applications and the present renaissance in contemporary Mexican and American architecture; concludes with the conception and creation of a major contemporary mosaic mural by artist Joseph Young.
