Beth Raymond is a college student who begins losing all her friends after one of her classmates is found dead. She doesn't understand why. All she knows is that each of her friends received a voicemail on their cell phones, one that told them when they would die and what they would say at the moment of their death. Each time a person gets a call, his or her phone plays a quiet music box lullaby instead of its normal ring tone. After ther person hears the message, they begin to see disturbing things. As soon as they die, they cough up a piece of hard candy, after which their cell phones dial another number, notifying the next person to die on the list. Beth eventually gets the call. With the help of Officer Jack Andrews, Beth hopes to solve this mystery before her time runs out

Du quotidien à l'oeuvre : les arts technologiques au prisme d'une poétique de la dissémination by Grzegorz Pawlak( Book )
1 edition published in 2013 in French and held by 1 library worldwide
In this thesis, I investigate the creative processes related to the everyday, through a double approach rooted in academic and artistic treatments. The patterns of activities we conduct everyday, and the patterns of our everyday behaviors are a source of aesthetic configurations, presently impacted by the technological spread of digital devices in our ordinary lives. I develop aesthetic, philosophic and historical distinctions between artworks and creative process depicting the everyday, in relation to the theoretical frames it relies on. My own artistic activity concerns digital imagery, time-based media and sound design. My work explores the relationship between everydayness, the concept of temporality, and our spatial interactions. It's throughout the logics of sampling that i confront the multiplicity of mediatic surroundings which form the tides we live by. Chapter one traces the theoretical borders of the everyday, related to the narrative, poetics, and approaches urban practices as enunciation strategies. The second chapter explores the potentiality of the concepts of habit, and domesticity. The third chapter investigates the development of dissemination poetics, through the shift from ordinarity to sampling as a cultural form
