As an MBB consultant for the tech industry, I have spent a lot of time trying to get a good understanding of blockchain and its future. Bubble or Revolution is the only book I have read that does exactly this. Do bitcoins and blockchains defy comprehension to you, like perhaps quantum mechanics? Well, no more, if you read this primer, written in easy-to-comprehend language. There are over a thousand versions of cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin being the best known and most widely used. I've tried reading other books on the topic of blockchain, but the problem is most other books on the topic are written by those who have a stake in the success of blockchain. Those books end up being way more optimistic and bullish than seems realistic.
